Records from this cemetery have been lost so the exact date is not known. Many of the early settlers in this part of Butler County are buried here. It is found in Section 13 of Coldwater Township south of the town of Greene on the farm of Dennis and Henry Ott. The farm was originally owned by William and Mary Magnoline Kingery who came to Coldwater Township and settled in 1855-1856. Two of their children who died in 1857 and 1859 are buried in the small cemetery to the north called the Elm Springs or Hardman Cemetery. It is believed that this cemetery was platted out after that time. The last burial took place in the 40's but the cemetery is still visited by many relatives and friends of those buried there. It is very well taken care of. Burials after 1940 were made at the Rosehill Cemetery within the city limits of Greene. A well known person was laid to rest at the Dunkard Cemetery,in the year 1931. She was called Aunt Jane Bragg to many and was known throughout Greene for her poetry. Veterans are remembered on Memorial Day with flags flown on the graves of those who served our country. Row (R) l is at the West edge of the cemetery. Alldredge, Emma dau of Mr. and Mrs. Alldredge d Apr 24,1864 20y 12d R5 Aurand, Cha's M.
