The Bethel Luthern Church, which at one time stood nearby to the south of the cemetery, was moved to the town of Parkersburg in 1918. A country school, Monroe No. 1, stood next to the church. The land was sold for the sun of one dollar by Alvina Siefkes, wife of Rev. Herman Siefkes, to a board of trustees of the Bethel Luthern Church. Anyone visiting this old cemetery would be amazed to find many of the stones inscriptions completely written in German, a challenge to read. Lot #1 is in the SE corner of the cemetery. The rows run south to north. Row 1, reading S to N, contains lots l through l3; row 2, reading N to S, contains lots l4 through 26; row 3, reading S to N, contains lots 27 through 39.
