Rose, 70, died at this home here at 4 p.m. Tuesday of carecinoma of the throat. He had been ill for several months. He was born at Chesterville, Ont., Canada, May 12, 1866, and came to the United States in 1882 with Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sproul, with whom he made his home after the death of his mother in 1877. They located near Greene, Ia. Me married Martha J. Minert Nov. 25, 1895 and the couple lived on a farm near Aredale for 12 years. They came to Bristow 29 years ago and have made their home here since. Mr. Rose was identified with several business interests and held numerous offices in school and civic affairs. For the last several years he was in the real estate business. Surviving are the widow; four daughters, Mrs. (Marie) Lloyd Jones, Cedar Falls; Mrs. (Helen) Earl Pitcher, Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. (Gilberta) James Brooks and Mrs. (Eileen) L.E. Appleby, both of Waterloo; and three grandchildren. Funeral services are tentatively planned from the home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in charge of G.W. Beadle of Bristow.
