A. ADAMS, TIPTON RESIDENT, PASSES TUESDAY Charles A Adams, a well known resident of the city the past several years passed away at his home here Tuesday at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 4 days. Funeral services were held at the Wilson Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with interment in the Masonic cemetery. Rev H N Poston pastor of the Presbyterian church of this city officiated. Charles A Adams was born in Scott county Iowa on March 16, 1850. He was married to Miss Anna Golden of York Prairie December 9th 1879. They moved to Falton South Dakota and resided there for nine years. Later they returned to Iowa and have lived in and near Tipton since that time. There were six childeren, all of whom are living: Ira of McGreger, Minnesota; Mrs Grace Gilbert of LeClaire Iowa; Mrs Mabel Spencer of Red Oak Grove neighborhood; Mrs Effie Sherwood of the South Bethel neighborhood; Forest of Tipton, Ia and Guy of Dewitt, Iowa. Besides his wife and childeren Mr Adams leaves one sister, Miss Mary Boyd of Mechanicesville, Iowa and a brother Frank Adams of Tipton; 20 grandchilderen and 14 great- grandchilderen, as well as a host of friends and charished acquaintances.
