This time it is the father of the family; the mother having passed on before him three weeks ago, and the children are left to bear the sorrow of their departure. Frank Cruse, one of six children of Henry and Barbara Cruse was born in Hanover, Germany, Feb 25, 1850. Born of Catholic parents, he was baptized in that faith as a child, but in later years he renounced this allegiance and requested that he be buried in the Protestant faith. When he was only three weeks old his parents left their native country and came to Americia to make their home, in the new land of promise. Here Frank, grew into manhood in the pioneer life of the western prairie. Mr. Cruse has spent the last few years of his life in the home of his son, Joseph, and although he has not been in good health for some months, he refused to give up and be a care to others while he could help himself. His final illness of the past three weeks called for others help and all that could be given in tender care could not prolong his life longer. Deathe came to release him from this world Friday night, Nov. 25 at the age of 82 years and 9 months. In the year 1882 he was married to LOUISA KERN. To this union eleven children were born, one of whom. Mary walker, preceded her parents in death. The other children, 4 sons are B.J. CRUSE of Plainfield, JOSEPH of Stanwood, ELMER and Dr. A.W. CRUSE of Mechanicsville; 6 daughters: Mrs. BARBARA GRELL and Mrs. ELLA YORK of Tipton, Mrs. MARGARET PLATTE of Clarence, Mrs. LUZETTA LARESEN of Omaha; Mrs. FRONA KlINE and MARTHA of Mechaniscville, remain to mourn the loss. There are 21 grandchildren and 1 great grand child, two sisters: CAROLINE KRUSER and ANNA DINGMAN of East Dubuque. For the last forty or more years, Mr. Cruse has follewed his occupation of farming in the vicinity of Stanwood. His success as a farmer and the respect which was occored him as a friend and neighbor, mark him as an honest, industrious and respected citizen. He was a man of few words and of good judgment and always ready to hilp others in time of need. Additional Comments: I have 3 other newspaper obit's.
