There is no source or date (other than 1904 handwritten) accompanying this newspaper clipping. The book was in a house in Ada County, Idaho, where relatives of the deceased lived. It is possible that the death occurred in Ada County, Idaho. However, the house was built around 1912, which is after the death of David G. Greene. OBITUARY. -------------------- (handwritten is the year 1904) David G. Greene. Died at the home of his sister, Mrs. S. W. Young, in this city on Sunday, May 22, at 8 p.m., Mr. David G. Greene, aged 78 years, 5 months, 16 day. ( handwritten is the year 1904) D. G. Greene was born in Danby, Rutland Co., Vermont, Dec. 6, 1825. From Danby, he, at the abe of fifteen, moved to a farm near Middleton, Vermont, living here until removing to Tipton, in 1853. In 1866 he married Anna Pirie, who died OCt 18, 1897. Since the spring of 1900 his home has been with his sister, Mrs. S. W. Yong, to whom he has been a welcome companion. By his kind and upright life he has wond the love and friendship of all his acquaintances and although he has been an invalid for some time past, and his death was not entirely unlooked for, it was yet a severe shock, and brought aching hearts to the bereaved ones. He was taken to Tipton, Dedar Co., for burial, the funeral services being held Tuesday morning. The interment was made in Red Oak cemetery. E. S. Young and D. M. Bossert accompanied the remains to their last resting place.
