Mason City--Mrs. Ira (H. Katinka "Kay" Myli) Christenson, 91, formerly of 712 15th Place N.E. died Thursday, June 27, 1991: at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 Second St N.E. The Rev. Ernest Thompson of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate, Burial will be in Center Cemetery at Story City. H. Katinka "Kay" Myli Christenson was born Nov. 10, 1899, at Northwood to Halgrim and Kari (Sando) Myli. She Attended schools in Northwood and rural Kensett and graduated from Waldorf College in Forest City. Kay was a former rural elementary and commercial teacher and was later employed at the State Treasurer's office in Des Moines for a number of years. In November 1962, she was married to Ira Christenson of Story City, Iowa. They spent much of their time in Story City until his death in 1968. She has lived in Mason City since then. She was a member Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in all women's organizations. Survivors include one brother, Kermit Myli and his wife, Lillian of Mason City; 10 nieces and nephews; and one great-great niece. She preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ira, in 1968; a sister, Amanda; and two brothers, Hartwick and Rudolph.
