From the Mason City, (Cerro Gordo, Iowa) Globe-Gazette, Saturday April 1, 1939,
p. 1, col. 4:

Injuries are Fatal to Man in Car Crash

Frankie Green, Dallas, Tex., soap salesman, who was injured in an automobile
collision 5 miles north of Mason City about 12:30 Friday noon, died at a local
hospital at 11 o'clock from internal injuries.

This is the first accidental death on the highways of Cerro Gordo county this year.

The condition of Vernon Cox, traveling companion of Mr. Green's, was reported as
fair at the Mercy hospital Saturday and the condition of Milford A. Phillips,
Waterloo, driver of the car in which the two Texans were riding was reported as
fair at Park hospital.

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Green have not been completed. The body was taken
to the Meyer funeral home.
