Kahley, 79, died at a local hospital at 2:50 o’clock Monday morning, following an illness. He had been a resident of Mason City for the past nine weeks. He formerly resided at Spencer. Mr. Kahley was born June 18, 1859 at Davenport. He was married t Ellen Peterson, at Emmetsburg, Oct. 20, 1889. He retired from farming in 1919 and was preceded in death by his wife Feb. 20, 1920. Surviving Mr. Kahley are three daughters, Mrs. Henry Kassel and Miss Edith Kahley, Mason City, and Miss Ethel Kahley, Spencer and one son, Glen Kahley, Spencer, and three grandsons, Warren and Raymond Kassel, Mason City, and Kenneth Kahley, Spencer. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the McAuley and Son funeral home at 1 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. David L. Kratz, pastor of the Church of Christ, will be in charge. Burial will be at Silver Lake cemetery, Ayrshire, Iowa.
