Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Larsen home and 2 o'clock at the Decorah Lutheran church with the Rev. O. Glesne officiating. Burial at Decorah Lutheran cemetery. From the Mason City (Cerro Gordo, Iowa) Globe Gazette, Wednesday, April 5, 1939, p. 4, col. 8: ELLEN LARSEN SERVICES HELD Decorah Woman Was Operator of Lyric Theater 25 Years DECORAH - Funeral services were held Sunday for Miss Ellen Larsen, 69, manager of the Lyric theater, who died Friday morning at her apartment of Water street, where she made her home with her sister, Sarah. The services were held in the United Lutheran church, with the Rev. O. Glesne officiating. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery. Miss Larsen was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Larsen, the former a pioneer clothing merchant of Decorah. [She] was born in Decorah and spent almost her entire life in this vicinity. For nearly 25 years she operated and managed the Lyric theater, with the help of her sister, Sarah. The following sisters survive: Mrs. C. W. Tullock, Minneapolis, and Miss Sarah, of Decorah.
