He engaged in the blacksmith business in Allison. He was also town assessor. He is survived by his widow and seven children, all at home: Orville, Luvera, Iva Dean, Beth, Darlene, Donna Mae and Donald; also three sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Adam Betten of Hampton; Mrs. Harry DeWall, Watertown, S. Dak.; Henry of Allison; William of Clarksville; Andrew of Cedar Rapids and Arthur of Vienna, S. Dak. Funeral services in charge of the Oliver Metzgar Legion Post of which Mr. Maifield was a member, will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock and the Associated church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.
