Myli, 85, of 743 17th St. N.E. died Wednesday (July 29, 1992) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Wayne Josephson officiating. Burial will be in Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kensett. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 Second St. N.E. on Monday morning until 11 a.m. and then one hour prior to services at Trinity Lutheran Church. Kermit O. Myli was born Sept. 1, 1906 in Northwood, Iowa, to Halgrim K, and Kari (Sando) Myli. Kermit grew up in the Kensett area and graduated from Hanlontown High School. He then moved to Mason City in 1928 where he attended Hamilton Business College. He married Lillian D, Bilstad in April, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the Navy World War II as a Seaman First Class. He worked for Ideal Sand Gravel as a comptroller for 44 years, retiring in 1972. At the time of his retirement he was vice-president and general manager of Ideal Sand and Gravel). He was member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on building committee for the present church; American Legion; Disabled American Veterans; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Sons of Norway. He contracted to build over 38 home in northeast Mason City and was involved with the Mason City Boulders Association. Before World War II, he was a Red Cross First Aid instructor. Survivors include his wife, Lillian D. Myli, Mason City; Two daughters, Phyllis and husband, Roger Cline, Fountain Hills, Ariz., Marcia and husband Micheal Roark, Anoka, Minn., three sons, Howard Myli and wife Alice, Park City, Utah; Ronald Myli, Denver, Colo.; David Myli and Wife Marilyn, Fort Myers, Fla,; and nine grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and two sisters.
