A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm with a one hour prior visitation on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City. Pastor David Bird will be officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Russ was born on April 19, 1940 in Mason City, IA to Roy Waldron Scott and Luceal Delphia (Spilman) Scott. He graduated Ventura High School then served in the United States Air Force at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota until he was honorably discharged. At Ellsworth, he met Patty and was united in marriage and to their union, four daughters were born. They lived in Rapid City and loved to camp in the Black Hills. The couple later divorced and he was united in marriage to Joyce, who predeceased him. Throughout his life, Russ worked as a truck driver. He had a passion for motorcycles and taught his girls to ride the family Chaparral 100. In addition to his love for motorcycles, he was a follower of Nascar. In the most recent years, he would spend every Wednesday and Saturday coordinating and playing Bingo with his special friend Sue and her granddaughters Maddie and Bayleah at the IOOF home in Mason City. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters: Joan Scott, Jane Bertram, Jennifer Davila and Jackie Means; grandchildren: Jason (Jessica) and their children Brooklynn and Amayah, JoAnna (Alex) and their children Emma and Jackson, Nicole (Chris) and their children Avery, Aubrey and Aadence, Michael, Courtney, Taylor, Zack and Josh; special friend of 12 years: Sue Myers and her son is Rob and his children Blake, Madison and Bayleah and two sisters: Janice Lansink and Sharon Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Luceal Scott; brother, Jerry Scott; wife, Joyce, granddaughter, Kathleen Jane Scott and son-in-law, Manual Davila.
