Former Legislator’s Wife Dies Following Operation at Waverly
   NASHUA – Mrs. Ward B. Smith, whose husband was formerly state representative
from this district, died Thursday at the Waverly hospital following an operation
a few days ago.
   Her husband survives her, also a brother, Otho Laird, and a sister, Mrs. D.
B. Grawe.  One son, Carroll Arthur, of a previous marriage, resides in Arcadia,
Cal.  He arrived Saturday to attend the funeral which will be held at the
Greenfield funeral home, Monday at 2 p. m.
   Mrs. Smith was a member of the Congregational church and of the chapter EN,
P. E. O.   – Mason City Globe Gazette, Saturday, April 8, p. 8, col. 8.
