L. W. Newell, dealer in boots and shoes, was born in Ill, in 1855, and when
seven years of age moved to Muscatine, Ia. He traveled for a Cincinnati house
for two and one-half years, and in June, 1881, moved to Cherokee, and
established his present business in Aug. of same year.
