Joseph Reed, proprietor of the bakery and restaurant, was born in Pa. in 1829;
removed to Ill. in 1864; thence to Ia. in 1875; located at Cherokee in 1881. He
married Mary Tallman, a native of Pa. They have three sons and two daughters.
