OBITS: Albert John Stief; Cherokee County, Iowa ============================================================================ Cherokee County, Iowa obituary - Albert John Stief Albert John Stief Albert John Stief, 70, died Sun- day at 11 a. m. suddenly at his farm home in Elk Township, Bue- na Vista County, where he had lived 42 years. Death was attribut- ed to a heart ailment. He was a Veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Ella; two sons, Melvin Stief of Peterson and Burdette of Minneapolis; a daughter, Mrs. (Ruby) Ellerbusch of Omaha; seven grandchildren Two brothers, Carl Stief of Cher- okee and Jack of Aurelia and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Hinkeldey of Galva and Mrs. Leo Kolpin, Aure- lia, also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Alfred and a grandson, Craig Ellerbusch. Funeral services at 2 p. m. Wed- nesday, March 20 from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Afton Town- ship were preceded by a family prayer service at 1:30 p. m. at the family home. Rev. Bertram officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the Grashoff - McManus Le- gion Post of Aurelia. Boothby Fu- neral Home was in charge of ar- rangements.
