           Dean W. Stief


  AURELIA - Dean W. Stief, 14,
of Aurelia died Sunday, October 29
at 6 a.m. in Cherokee after an ex-
tended illness.
  Born in Aurelia, June 4, 1917 he
attended the Aurelia community
school and was a member of the
Student Council from the Fresh-
man class.                        I

  He was confirmed in Immanuel
Lutheran Church near Aurelia in
the spring of 1961.
  Survivors are his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Willard Stief of Aurelia;
three sisters, Marlene, Nancy and
Sharon, all at home; his grand-
parents Mrs. Minnie Stief and Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Westphal, all of
Aurelia.
  Funeral services were Wednes-
day, November 1 at 2 p.m. from
Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Pas-
tor Arnold Bertram of Storm Lake
officiated.  Burial was in the
church cemetery with Wharton
Funeral Home in charge of ar-
rangements. (6-29-1961)
