KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:- THAT I JOHNATHAN J. HITCHCOCK OF
CHEROKEE IOWA, DO HEREBY MAKE PUBLISH AND DECLARE THIS INSTRUMENT OF
WRITING AS AND FOR MY LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, AS FOLLOWS TO-WIT;
         FIRST, I GIVE AND BEQUEATHE UNTO MY WIFE NANCY A. HITCHCOCK
LOTS TWENTY SIX AND TWENTY SEVEN, BLOCK THIRTEEN TOWN OF NEW CHEROKEE,
IOWA, AND UNTO HER AND HER ASSIGNS FOREVER,
         SECOND, I GIVE AND BEQUEATHE UNTO HUBERT HITCHCOCK ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS AND TO HIS HEIRS FOREVER.
         THIRD, I GIVE AND BEQUEATHE UNTO MY DAUGHTER ALTA HITCHCOCK
ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND UNTO HER HEIRS FOREVER,
         FOURTH, I GIVE AND BEQUEATHE UNTO MY SON JOHN R. HITCHCOCK
THE WEST HALF OF LOT TEN BLOCK THIRTY TWO LEBOURVEAUS SECOND ADDI-
TION TO NEW CHEROKEE, IOWA.
         FIFTH, I GIVE AND REQUEATHE THE REMAINDER AND RESIDUE
OF MY PROPERTY BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL IN EQUAL SHARES UNTO MY CHILDREN
AS FOLLOWS VIZ,  MARTHA LEEDS, EMMA B. STINER, JOHN R. HITCHCOCK,
BIRD HITCHCOCK, ALTA HITCHCOCK, ELIZABETH BAILEY AND UNTO THEM AND
THEIR HEIRS AND ASSIGNS, FOREVER
         FIFTH, I HEREBY APPOINT MY WIFE, NANCY A. HITCHCOCK MY EXECU-
TOR, WITHOUT BOND,
         WITNESS MY HAND THIS 29TH DAY OF NOVEMBER A.D. 1890

GOING IS A TRUE COPY OF THE WILL OF JOHNATHAN J. HITCHCOCK DECEASED
LATE OF CHEOKEE COUNTY, IOWA, THAT UNDER THE SAID WILL YOU ARE GIVEN
LOTS 26 AND 27 BLOCK 13 IN THE TOWN OF NEW CHEROKEE, IOWA IN LIEU OF
DOWER OR DISTRIBUTIVE SHARE IN THE REALTY OR PERSONALTY BELONGING
TO SAID ESTATE, AND YOU ARE HEREBY REQUIRED TO MAKE YOUR ELECTION
WHETHER YOU WILL TAKE UNDER THE WILL AS ABOVE STATED OR WILL TAKE THE
DISTRIBUTIVE SHARE AS BY LAW PROVIDED, WITHN SIX MONTHS FROM THE SERVICE
OF THIS NOTICE, AS BY LAW REQUIRED.

Jonathan Jefferson Hitchcock died Saturday, 29 DEC 1890, just
hours after signing his Will.
Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa.
