New Hampton Tribune Gazette, New Hampton,IA, Thursday, January 26, 1933. Passed Away at the Age of Nearly 75 years. Suffered with Cancer. The Funeral was Held Friday. Mrs. L.C. Hance of Ionia, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Taylor, in Jackson Junction, Wednesday Morning, January 18th at 6:45 O'clock. the immediate cause of her death was cancer. She had been confined to her bed nearly three months but remained patient and cheerful and retained her mental activities to the very hour of her death. She knew that she was to die. She knew for a long time that the Angel of the last long sleep was about to call for her, and take her on that last long journey, which all must travel, and from where none ever return. She was content to go and thankful that her lot in life had extended so long. Mrs. Emmaline Gallinger Trusty Hance was one of God's true and noble women. Her life has been one of usefulness yet quiet and unassuming. She was a true wife and one of four fine children, likewise respected by all who have know them. Her passing is mourned yes deeply mourned, because none are ever quite ready to part with so dear and good a friend. Her aged husband, children, sisters and brothers and her seven grandchildren we extend sympathy. The deceased Miss Emmaline Gallinger was born May 25, 1858 at Richland Center, Wisconsin. In 1865 the family came west to Dakota. From 1882 to 1933, more that half a century, she was a resident of Ionia. On July 19, 1876 she was married in New Hampton to Mr. Charles E. Trusty. To them five children were born, the first a daughter died in infancy. Those living are Mrs. George Taylor, of Jackson Junction, Oscar Trusty of Ionia, Walter Trusty, of Springfield, Missouri and Leown Trusty of Owatonna, Minnesota. Her sister, Mrs. Wm. Smith lives in Washington, her brother, Ben Gallinger lived in Buffalo, Wyoming and her sister, Mrs. Eli Huffman in Minnewaukan, North Dakota. Mr. Trusty died on November 23, 1897 and on November 27, 1900, she was married to Mr. L.C. hance of Ionia, who survives. Mrs. Hance was a member of the Congregational Church, the Ladies Aid and the Royal Neighbors of America. Her funeral was held from the Congregational church in Ionia, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and was conducted by Reverend Halbert. Singing was by Ralph Watts, Mrs. Nels Huffman, Mrs. Winton Waite and Reverend Halbert who sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." "In the Garden" and "Sometime We'll Understand." Burial was in the Rowley Hill cemetery beside the remains of Mr. Trusty and their daughter. Her pall bearers were H.C. Ransom, C.R. Moody, R.P. Parrish, M.N. Crooks, F.H. Davis and Olva Cagley. Those from a distance here for her funeral were Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Trusty, Owatonna and Mr. and Mrs. S. McManigal and Robert Henniger of Waterloo.
