"Rites Wednesday For Orlo Potter, Who Died at 92." Nashua Record, Nashua, 
IA,   ca.March 28, 1965.  .

Funeral services will be held in Nashua, Wednesday afternoon for one of 
Chickasaw county's oldest residents, Orlo Hughes Potter, who died Sunday at 
the age of 92.

Rites will be held from the Methodist church, the Rev. L. George Pimlott 
officiating.   Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery at Nashua.

Friends may call at the Chenowith Funeral Home in Nashua.

Casket bearers will be Ed Simpson, Roy Nafus, C.H. Snider, Homer Lucas, Morris 
Wolf and A.C. Campbell.

Mrs. Don Shepard will be organist, and flowers will be in charge of the Mmes. 
Dale Coates and Homer Lucas.

Orlo died Sunday morning in the Fritz Nursing Home in Nashua, where he had 
resided the past two years.

The son of George and Rebecca Potter, he was born near Ionia on October 7, 
1872.

He was united in marriage to Mamie Watts on August 22,, 1895, at Bassett.   To 
this union 3 children were born:   Lloyd of Gatesville, ARK.; Kenneth of 
Marion and Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Drake of Nashua.

He farmed in Bremer and Chickasaw Counties and later owned and operated a 
hardware store in Bassett.

In 1922 they moved near Nashua on a farm and later he was engaged in 
painting.   He was a member of the Methodist Church and was active as long a 
health permitted.

He is survived by his children; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.   
He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and three sisters.
