Thursday, May 9, 1918 Nashua Reporter - Thursday, May 9, 1918 "Caroline Potter was born in Franklin county, New York, September 25, 1845, and passed away at her home in Waverly on Wednesday, May 1. In the year 1862 she came with her parents to Horton, this county, and had been a resident of this county since that date. In March, 1867, at the home of her brother, L.F. Potter, in Polk township, she was united in marriage to J.M. Miller and they went to housekeeping on Mr. Miller's farm north of Waverly, and that was their home until fifteen years ago when they came to Waverly. Mr. Miller died on February 12, 1914, since which time, and even before, Mrs. Miller had been an invalid, yet her death came as a surprise following a stroke of apoplexy on Sunday. In the death of Mrs. Miller, Bremer county sees the passing of another of her early pioneers. She leaves to mourn her death one sister, Mrs. Sarah Hurlbut, of Horton, and one brother, L.F. Potter of Nashua. Funeral services will be held at the home on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. A.W. Henke of the Methodist church officiating. Mr. and Mrs. David Simpson of Ames are here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Simpson's aunt, Mrs. Miller. O.W. Potter, a nephew of Mrs. Miller and a brother of Mrs. Simpson, is also here from South Dakota. ----------- Waverly Independent" File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ia/chickasaw/obits/p/pottermi198nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/iafiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
