Record of Wills. Volume B. A. S. Potter In the name of God Amen. I Arvin S. Potter of the town of Richland , county of Chickasaw and state of Iowa of the age of sixty seven (67) years and being of sound mind and memory and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do make publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say, First I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. Second I hereby give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Laura H. Potter all personal property, money and credits of which I may be possessed or seized at the time of my decease, together with the full use and control, excepting the right to sell, of all my landed estate, to have and to hold the same to herself during her natural life. Third I desire and direct that after the decease of my wife, the rest and residue of my property shall be divided among my legal heirs in the manner following. To my son Henry H. Potter, I bequeath Fifty Dollars ($50) with the request that he donate the same to his son Arvin Potter. To Hellen Hill , I bequeath one Hundred Dollars ($100). To Aletha Potter, I bequeath One Hundred Dollars ($100). To Effie Stocks, I bequeath One Hundred Dollars ($100). To Elsie Bigelow, I bequeath One Hundred Dollars ($100). To Theadore Potter, I bequeath Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00). To Irvin Potter I bequeath Twenty Five dollars ($25.00). To William Potter, I bequeath Twenty Five ($25.00) Fourth I direct that all the rest and residue of my property be divided equally between Alura S, Potter and Aletha Potter. Fifth For the proper execution of this my Last Will and Testament, I hereby nominate and approve Alura S. Potter and Aletha Potter and George Potter as my legal executers of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty Fourth day of May A. D. 1886. A. S. Potter {seal} The foregoing instrument consisting of one sheet, was at the date thereof signed published and declared by the said Arvin S. Potter the testator therein named, to be his last will and Testament in presence of us both and at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names a witnesses. Peuberthy, Clerk of the District Court, in and for said county, do hereby certify that on this day, at the December Term A. D. 1891, of said Court, the will and instrument in writing hereunto annexed and bearing the date on the 24th day of May 1886, was duly proved before and allowed by said Court as and for the last Will and Testament of the real and personal estate of A. S.
