F. G. Daniels, proprietor of ths Gregory House, was born in Herkimer county, N.
Y., in 1838; moved to Chautauqua county in 1851. He was engaged as traveling
salesman and collecting agent for a New York house for some years, and in 1862
engaged in business at Oil Creek, Pa. In 1871 he came to Iowa; was engaged in
the patent right business for several years, and located at Spencer, in 1881. He
married Mary E. Bennett, in 1871, and has one son.
