Henry Casper Backhaus

Died at his home Saturday evening at 7:30 Mr. Henry Backhaus Sr. at the age of 
65.  He has, for some time being a sufferer of Consumption. He leaves a wife 
and six children John, Henry, Kate, Annie, Mrs. Mary Putzier, and Maggie 
Mueller, to mourn his loss. His remains will be laid to rest at the cemetery 
at this place Tuesday. Rev. 0. Gammelin will conduct the funeral service. (He 
died July 23, 1898.)
