PETER ALES SUDDENLY CALLED Katherine Marie Kula, daughter of John and Mary Kula, was born at Prairieburg, Iowa, February 3, 1879 and was at the time of her death 35 years, 4 months and 9 days of age. She was married to Peter Ales of Lost Nation, September 19, 1897. To this union were born three children: James Raymond, age 12 years, Laurence Eugene and Gladys Marie, the latter two dying in infancy. Others left to mourn, besides the husband son and parents are Mrs. Adolph Lasack of Oxford Junction, Mrs. Mat Ales of Lost Nation, Mrs. George Heartsell of Waubeck, and Missses Rose and Lillian Kula of Prairieburg, Frank Kula, Jr. and Raymond Kula of Prairieburg and many other relatives and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Lady Club of Lost Nation and Rosary Society of Oxford Junction, Sacred Heart Parish. The funeral was held in Sacred Heart Church, Lost Nation, Tuesday, June 16. Solemn High Mass was read by Rev. Father O.J. Small as celebrant; Rev. R. Landers of Delmar as Deacon and Rev. P. J. Ryan of Welton as sub-deacon. The Oxford Junction chior assisted by Mrs. Margaret Knock, furnished appropriate music. The ashes were tenderly laid to rest in the Lost Nation Cemetery.
