Maquoketa Record, March 15, 1905 

HORACE A. FAY died at his home in DeWitt, Iowa, on Sunday night after a two 
weeks illness with pneumonia. The funeral was held Wednesday from the home 
with interment in the DeWitt Cemetery, Mr. Fay was an early settler of Clinton 
County, locating in DeWitt in the 1850's, where he has since resided. 

Mr. Fay became prominent in journalism through his long connection with the 
Advertiser. The funeral was very large and many loving tributes of flowers 
were paid to his memory.
