Mrs. Monahan, whose maiden name was Mary Goodall, was born in Carlton County, Canada West, 65 years ago. She immigrated to this country and state in early childhood, settling with her parents near Charlotte. In the year 1874 she was united in wedlock to Bartholemew Monhahan and to this union ten children were born. They are: Arthur, Silverious, May, Ella and Sarah of Charlotte; Frank and Kate of Cedar Rapids; Julia, residing in Minnesota; Bart, a resident of Montana, and Martha, now Mrs. J. E. Gilroy, of Lost Nation. Mr. Monahan, the husband and father, passed away four years ago. Mrs. Monahan was a consistent and active member of the Catholic church and a diligent worker in every worthy cause. The funeral occurs today at the Assumption Catholic church in Charlotte and burial will be in the church cemetery.
