Funeral services were held in the home at 1:30 p.m. and at the Union Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. B. J. Swede conducted the services. Burial was in the Lost Nation Cemetery. Edward Myatt, son of Thomas and Anna Myatt, was born in Sharon Township, Clinton County, on February 17, 1864, on a farm north of Lost Nation. He spent his boyhood amid scenes of rapid development in the middle west, attended country school and worked the farm with his parents. He was baptised in the Methodist church in Lost Nation. On August 26, 1886, he was united in marriage to Anna Kiel and they continued to be tillers of the soil on a farm northeast of Lost Nation. To this union six children were born. On October 1, 1912, Anna passed away. Mr. Myatt continued farming until 1913, after which he moved to Lost Nation. On September 24, 1924, he was married to Mrs. Mary Langhurst. He served on the town council and was a respected member of the community. Mr. Myatt suffered a lingering illness until his release August 31. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, six children: Tom, Ralph and Edward of Maquoketa, and Frank, Fred and Leitha Grundmeier of Lost Nation; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Nichols and Mrs. Laura Brown of Denver, Colorado and sixteen grandchildren and one great grandson.
