He grew to manhood near Lost Nation and was married to Ida B. Swan, February 23, 1885. To this union was born one son, Leslie Nodle, who with Mrs. Nodle survives. During the past thirty years deceased made his home continuously on the farm near Lost Nation. He was active as a farmer and man of affairs, and at the time of his death was a director of the Lost Nation Savings Bank and president of the local telephone company. For the two months previous to his death Mr. Nodle suffered with nephritis and nothing that medical care or or loving hands could do availed to stay the ravages of the insidious malady. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lydia Curry of Baldwin. Funeral services were held at the Buckhorn Church last Thursday, July 16. The services at the church were conducted by Rev. Boomershine of Maquoketa, and were largely attended. Interment was at Buckhorn Cemetery in Jackson County.
