Christina Ruhloffs was born in Foehr, Schleswig. Germany, in December, 1822 and came to America, locating in Clinton County in 1862, where she had resided ever since. In 1864 she was married to Frederick Plath who passed away several years ago. Only one son, Henry, who survives, was the fruit of this union. Besides the bereaved son, she leaves a nephew, Cornelius Petersen. Mrs. Plath was a devout member of the German Lutheran Church and lived a Christian life. During her long life she never knew what it was to be sick until several months ago when she was stricken by paralysis and never recovered. The funeral was held at the home Saturday afternoon, with a sermon by Rev. Oldsen, after which the remains were consigned to their last resting place in the Glahn Cemetery.
