Mary M. Shadle, 78, of Clinton died Wednesday at Mercy North Hospital.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Clinton Chapel,
Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4
to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services.

She was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Clinton to William and Clara Chandler Thompson.
She married Robert Shadle on March 26, 1971, in Clinton. He died Dec. 10, 1998.

She was a 1944 graduate of Clinton High School.

She was employed as a secretary at Clinton Corn Processing for 23 years,
retiring in 1982.

She was a member of Fulton Country Club.

Survivors include two sons, David W. (Sandy) Cozzens of Clinton, Alan C. Cozzens
of Santa Fe, N.M.; a stepson. David (Nancy) Shadle of St. Charles, Ill.; a
stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara (Bill) Siegrist of Denver, Colo.; three
grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four
stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, William C. Thompson of Camanche; and a
sister, Mrs. Barbara C. (Alan) Small of Lost Nation.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Memorials may be made to the family for a charity of their choice.

Death Date: May 25, 2005.
