The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lemke Funeral Home, North Chapel, 2304 N. Second St. The Rev. Bill Warhover will officiate. Burial will follow in Miles Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jim Taplin, Steve Taplin, Dwaine Bruhn, Jurgen Duhr, Gary Taplin and Eugene Bruhn. He was born Sept. 9, 1905, on a farm in Sterling, Iowa, to George and Retta Bruhn. He married Bernice Friedricksen on Jan. 20, 1937. She died June 8, 1992. He graduated from Miles High School. He was a truck driver for 30 years. He also had been the maintenance man for Miles School for six years and had been a school bus driver for 13 years. He was the poultry foreman at Pillsbury Farm for four years and worked for A.C. Nielsen as a mail carrier and maintenance man for five years before retiring in 1970. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister. Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Miles.
