Wilcox, 88, of Leesburg, and formerly of the Maquoketa area, died May 18 at the Lake Harris Health Care Center in Leesburg. A graveside service and burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa. The Rev. Ruth Ann Scott of Carson and Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa will officiate. There is no public visitation. Carson and Son Funeral And Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements. She was born May 6, 1917, in Nashville, Iowa, to Isaac Ogden Varner and Pearl Mae Schaeffer Varner. She married Delbert Paul Wilford Wilcox in September 1937 in Rockford, Ill. She attended school in Cedar Rapids. After various jobs through the years, she retired from S.S. Kresge Department Stores after 16 years. She moved to Florida in 2001. She was a member of the New Covenant United Methodist Church of The Villages, Florida, and the Four Score and More Club. Survivors include her children, Bruce Eugene (Darlene) Wilcox of Nixa, Mo., and twin daughters- Darlene Ruth Wilcox of The Villages, Fla., and Mrs. Charlene Rosalie (Donald) Farley of Redding, Calif; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a great-grandson and nine brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Lake & Sumter County or to the New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages, Florida. Online Tributes may be left at www.carsonandson.com.
