All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ________________________________________________________ NOTE: For more information on Clinton County, Iowa Please visit the Clinton County, IAGenWeb page at http://iagenweb.org/clinton/ ________________________________________________________ I William George of the City of Wheatland County of Clinton, state of Iowa being of the age of Seventy nine years aware of the uncertainty of of [sic] life and in failing health but of sound mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following To Wit - First: I give devise and bequeath to my eldest Son James George the sum of one Dollar he having received his share in benefits during my lifetime-- Second: I give devise and bequeath to Mary Mathews a certain Note Given to me by her husband George Mathews & the adminestratrix is empowered to assign said Note to her. -- Third: I give devisse and bequeath to John George the Note of hand given to me by him & the adminestratrix is empowered to assign said note to him. -- Fourth: It is my will that all the personal and Real Estate that I am in possession of at my decease be sold at Public or Private sale and all liabilities due this estate be collected and the debts and liabilities due from the estate be paid and discharged and the balance left to be equally divided between my remaining children To Wit Sarah Fisher Reed R. George Elizabeth Brewster Nancy Hoskins, Margaret Gifford Zemine Gifford, Anna Wilson and Amy Collins. Lastly: I nominate and appoint Zemine Gifford as Administratrix of this my last Will and Testament and she shall not be required to give the accustomed Bond unless in the judgement of the Court it be deemed otherwise. In Witness wherof I William George to this my Last Will and Testament have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th of April eighteen Hundred and ninety four. Wm. George Signed and declared by William George as and for his last Will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names hereunto as Witnesses thereof. To Said Court: Your Petitioner states that William George late of Spring Rock Township, in said County, departed this life on the 10th day of October A.D. 1894 having first duly made and published his last Will, in which your Petitioner is named as Excutrix and which she now produces for probate; that the said William George was at the time of his death, a resident of said County, and that he left him surviving no widow and children, his heirs at law, as follows, to-wit: James George aged 59 years, and who resides at Horr, Montana Sarah Fisher aged 57 years, and who resides at Ohioville, Pa Rand R. George aged 55 years, and who resides at Wheatland, Iowa Elisabeth Brewster aged 53 years, and who resides at Creighton, Neb Mary Matthews aged 51 years, and who resides at Omaha, Neb Nancy Hoskins aged 50 years, and who resides at St. Lawrence, Dakota Margary Gifford aged 49 years, and who resides at Boseman, Montana Zemine Gifford aged 47 years, and who resides at Wheatland, Iowa Anna Wilson aged 45 years, and who resides at Bear Grove, Iowa Amy Collins aged 45 years, and who resides at Davenport, Iowa John George aged 42 years, and who resides at Fire Caughs, California That the above named persons are all the persons known to your Petitioner to be interested in the matter of proving said Will; that the Real Estate in the State of Iowa, of which said deceased died seized does not exceed $900.00 in value, and the Personal Property of which said deceased was possessed of and entitled to at the time of his death does not exceed $1500.00 in value. Your Petitioner asks that said Will be publicaly read in open Court, and that said Court fix a time for proving the same; and that each notice thereof be given to said persons interested as the Court may direct; and that upon the final hearing of this matter said Will be allowed and recorded as the last will of deceased, and thereupon, upon said Zemine Gifford qualifying according to law, that she be commissioned as Excutrix of said Will.
