Adela Charlotte Johansen Jensen was born to Peter W. and Anna Stier Johannsen 
on the family farm in Soldier Township, Crawford County, Iowa on October 27, 
1902.  

Her mother died on December 24, 1904 and she was raised by her father and step-
mother, Mathilda Jochims Groth Johannsen.  

On September 23, 1924, Adela was united in marriage to Hugo Jacob Jensen at 
the Frieden’s Evangelical Church in Schleswig.  They  were blessed with one 
daughter.

Adela was preceded in death by her husband Hugo in 1980, her parents, sister 
and brother-in-law, Lillian Guda Johannsen Ehler and her husband, John of Ida 
Grove; step-brother and sister-in-law:  Wilbert and Irene Krohnke Johannsen, 
of Schleswig; Hugo’s siblings:  Rudolph, Wilhelm, Edward, Bernhard, Frank 
Della and their spouses.

Those surviving are  her daughter and  son-in-law of Schleswig; three 
grandchildren:
