Adela Charlotte Johansen Jensen was born to Peter W. and Anna Stier Johannsen 
in  Crawford County, Iowa on October 27, 1902.  She passed away  on September 
9, 2002.  
Her mother died on December 24, 1904 and she was raised by her father and step-
mother, Mathilda Jochims Groth Johannsen

On September 23, 1924, Adela was united in marriage to Hugo Jacob Jensen in 
Schleswig.  
	
Adela was preceded in death by her husband Hugo in 1980, her parents, sister 
and brother-in-law, Lillian Guda Johannsen Ehler and her husband, John of Ida 
Grove; step-brother and sister-in-law:  Wilbert and Irene Krohnke Johannsen, 
of Schleswig; Hugo’s siblings:  Rudolph, Wilhelm, Edward, Bernhard, Frank 
Della and their spouses.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce and son-in-law, William J. Petersen of 
Schleswig; three grandchildren.
