Andersen)
	
	Ernest W. Klaus, 81, of Onawa, Iowa, and formerly of Ute, Iowa, died 
Saturday, November 9, 1985, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska.
	He was born July 13, 1904, at Ute, Iowa, to Carl and Pauline 
(Acklebein) Klaus. On August 22, 1926, he was united in marriage to Leona 
Knutson at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute, Iowa.  She died December 15, 
1970, at Ute, Iowa.  
	
	Survivors include two sons, one of Kingman, Arizona, and one  of 
Omaha, Nebraska; six daughters; three brothers, Gustav of Denison, Iowa, 
Willie “Bill” of Mapleton, Iowa, and Peter of Ute, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. 
Martin (Pauline) Kuester of Sioux City, Iowa; twenty-two grandchildren; and 
fifteen great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leona; one 
daughter, Willamette; several brothers and sisters; and one grandson.
