	Marvin Leonard Melby was born March 24, 1939, in Crawford County of 
Leonard and Mildred Melby.  He passed away suddenly March 17, 1987, in 
Kimball, NE.
	On July 27, 1957, he was married to Sylvia Sparks.  
	Survivors are his wife Sylva, one son, Mark, (wife Judy); two 
daughters, Jeanyce and Brenda (Mrs. Dana) Hildreth; four grandchildren; his 
mother, Mildred Melby of Dunlap, two sisters, Joan Gau and Lois (Mrs. David) 
Rudd, both of Dunlap, his mother-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Sparks of Decatur, Neb., 
and many nieces and nephews.
	He was preceded in death by his son Tommy in 1961, his father, Leonard 
in September 1983, and his father-in-law Edison Sparks in February 1983.
