JOHN MOUNT The body of Mrs. John Mount, accompanied by a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Chappel, of San Diego, CA., where Mrs. Mount died on Aril 2, arrived in Denison Wednesday might and was taken to the Bartcher funeral home, and funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church, Rev. W. L. Tillman, pastor of the church, officiating. Mrs. Mount had been in California for the past six months and had been seriously ill but 24 hours. Pneumonia was the cause of death. She had lived in Denison for 45 years, her previous home being at Mapleton. She was born April 12, 1872, her place of birth being Addingham, England. She was the daughter of Joseph Taylor and Elizabeth Shepard - Taylor. She was married with John Mount, a log time settler of Crawford county, in May 1896, at Denison. To the union four children were born, two preceding their mother in death. They were Clara Mount Maxwell and Glenn Mount. The two surviving children are Richard Mount and Alice Mount Parker. Richard is in the marines somewhere in the South Pacific and Mrs. Parker resides at 4515 Long Branch, Ocean Beach, San Diego, Calif. Mrs. Mount was a member of the Rebekah order, and had held the office of noble grand. She was also a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Denison, and the Presbyterian church. Mr. Mount passed away a number of years ago, and Mrs. Mount, prior to going to California, had lived at 1012 5th Avenue North in Denison. The deceased is survived by her two children and ??? sisters and four brother, namely: Clara Eddington, Mapleton; Alice Jessen, Mapleton; Elizabeth Chappel, San Diego, Calif. and Eva Rapke, Albany, Ore.; Fred Taylor, Arthur Taylor, Jasper Taylor, all of Mapleton, and Joseph Taylor of Battle Creek. Interment will be made in Oakland Cemetery in the Mount family plot.
