Erna Louise Teut Nihsen of Charter Oak Iowa, was born March 3, 1920  north of 
Ricketts, IA in Soldier Township, Crawford County, Iowa.  She was the daughter 
of Herman and Anna Wiedemann Teut. She died Monday, August 20, 2001.


She married Gilbert Nihsen June 23, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier 
Township, Charter Oak, Iowa. 

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert of Charter Oak; one son, LoWayne and 
his wife, Carol Nihsen of Port Orchard, Washington; four grandchildren; two 
great-granddaughters, Mercedes and Hailee; one sister, Ruby Waderich of 
Mapleton and a brother, Everett and his wife, Betty Teut of Omaha; also six 
sisters-in-law, Christine Teut and Clara Teut, both of Schleswig, Arlene Teut 
of Mapleton, Irene Teut of Denison and Ruth Teut of Ute and Mabel Kolbaum of 
Kiron. She was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Dean and Dallas Lee; 
nine brothers, Elmer, Melvin, Ralph, Herbert, Arlo, Kermit, Waldo, Orville and 
Raymond and his wife, Dorothy; two sisters, Edna and her husband, Marcus 
Wodtke and Evelyn Teut; one brother-in-law, August Waderich.
