Adela A. Baak, age 98, passed away Monday, January 20, 2003, at in Sioux City 

Adela A. Baak was born December 25, 1904 in Charter Oak, Iowa, the daughter of 
Herman and Lizzie (Peters) Garbe Sr. She married Chris Ullerich on November 
14, 1926, in Charter Oak. Chris passed away September 5, 1956 in Charter Oak. 
She married Helmuth Baak on January 27, 1962, in Sioux City. He passed away 
December 27, 1964. 

Survivors include four nephews; a niece and her husband of Chicago, Illinois; 
two stepdaughters and their husbands, Barbara and Ralph Junck of Sioux City 
and Sharon and Lee Warne of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a brother, Herman Garbe 
Jr. of Denison, Iowa; seven stepgrandchildren; and many great-nieces, great-
nephews and great-stepgrandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two brothers, John and 
Leonard Garbe; three nephews, Phillip Nemitz, Richard O. Meyer and James 
Nemitz; and two sisters, Agnes Nemitz and Elsie Meyer.
