Thursday, October 27, 1892

At St Patrick's Church in this city, Rev. Father Murphy united in marriage, Mr. 
John Shields, of Des Moines, and Miss Julia Graney.  The bride is the youngest 
daughter of James Graney, and a most excellent young lady - one that is good 
enough for any man.  The groom is a conductor on the Diagonal, and a young man 
of good parts.  The happy couple were the recipients of numerous and valuable 
prestents.  They will make their home in Des Moines, where the REPORTER wishes 
them much happiness and prosperity.

Julia A. (Graney) Shields was the daughter of James Graney and Mary Hogan.  She 
is widowed and living in Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa for the 1925 State Census 
with daughters, Marie, Catherine, & Bernice.
