Last Will and Testament }
of Conrad Homan         }
                     I Conrad Homan of the town of Dexter, County of
Dallas State of Iowa of the age of fifty years and being of sound
mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and
testament in manner following that is to say,--
1st - That all my just and legal debts shall be paid by my said executor
and that after said debts are paid the ballance of all my property
both real and personal I bequeath as follows. -
2nd  - I give and bequeath to my wife Friederika Homan during her life
time the use of all my real and personal property wherever found for
the support of herself and our children Richard Homan, Conrad Albert
Homan,  Eleonora Homan, Carolina Homan, Mattilda Kniquude?? Homan, 
Emeline Homan and Oskar Christian Homan.
3rd - That my wife Friederika shall have power and authority to mortgage
sell and transfer all my real estate situated in the town of Dexter,
Dallas County, Iowa for the support of herself and children but that
my farm situated in Penn Township Madison County Iowa and described as
follows to wit.- west one half of south east quarter of section ten (10)
township seventy seven north of range twenty nine west. My wife 
Friederika shall not mortgage sell or dispose of in any manner or for
any person. That my wife Friederika shall have the use and benefit
of the rents and profits desired from the use of said farm during
her life and for the support of our said children.
4th - That in case my wife Friederika should marry again then and in
that event she shall not mortgage sell transfer or in any manner 
dispose of nor borrow money by placing a lien on any of my real
estate wherever situated.
5th - At the death of my wife Friederika the ballance residue and
remainder of my property real and personal wherever found shall be
equally divided between my children Richard Homan, Conrad Albert
Homan, Eleonora Homan, Carolina Homan, Mattilda Homan, Emilie Homan
and if any be dead leaving no heirs of their body there share shall
be equally divided between the remaining heirs.

6th - I appoint Friederika Homan executors of this my last will and
testament and request that no bond be required of her as executrix 
of this my last will.
                 In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand
                 and seal this 16th day of June 1883
                                  Conrad Homan

          The above instrument was declared to us by the testator
          therein mentioned to be his last will and testament. He 
          signed and sealed the same in our presence and we thereupon
          at his request and in his presence and in presence of each
          other signed our names thereto as witnesses.

           Be it remembered that on this 16th day of June A. D. 1883
before me a notary Public in and for said Dallas county comes Conrad
Homan and acknowledged this to be his last will and his voluntary act.

             I M. J. Swelley? clerk of the circuit court of the
             state of Iowa in and for Dallas county do hereby certify
that the forgoing last will and testament of Conrad Homan as duly
proven and admitted to probate this 28th day of August A. D. 1883 the
same being at a regular time of said county.
                    IN testimony I have hereunto subscribed my name
                    and affixed the seal of said court this 29th
