Not sure if Sophia HECHT is some how related or not??** ========================================================================== MRS. JOHN HECHT DIES Mrs. John Hecht died at her home in West Grove [Davis Co] Monday morning, Dec. 30, 1914, at 2:30 from stomach trouble. She was 84 yrs, 11 mos. and 24 days old. Funeral services were conducted at the Cumberland Presbyterian church at West Grove at 11 o'clock Friday morning by Rev. H.C. SHARP. Interment was made in the West Grove cemetary. The pall bearers were Messrs. Caleb HUNT, Milton HARRIS, Jno. FRYE, Jas. FRYE, Ed FULK, Lewis STOGDILL. Mrs. Sophia Louise Elizabeth HECHT of West Grove, was born in Germany Jan. 5, 1829. She was united in marriage to J.C. HECHT in 1853, comming to the USA in 1870, stopping a short time in the state of Ohio, locating in Davis county, Ia. In 1896 the family moved to West Grove where they have continuously resided. Fourteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. HECHT, four girls and ten boys, twelve preceding the mother to the spirit world. The two, with their father surviving, J.W. HECHT of King City, MO and Henry HECHT of near Bloomfield, Iowa. Early in life Mrs. HECHT became a member of the Lutheran church never changing her church relationship. She loved her bible making it her daily study.
