HATTIE ABERNATHY KIRKPATRICK was born in Warren, Joe Davis Co., Ill., Aug. 26,
l856. She moved with her parents to Decatur County, Iowa, in April l867,
graduating from the Leon High Schools in '73. She was united in marriage to W.A.
KIRKPATRICK in Feb. '76. She removed to Des Moines, Iowa, in l888, where she
resided until death, which occurred April 8th, l900. A husband, two sons and
three daughters survive her, the youngest being seven years of age. She was laid
to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.
