FOX COUNTY, IOWA
1851 created
1853 renamed Calhoun

Fox county was created by act of the General Assembly in 1851 and named for
the Fox Indians. It was attached to Polk County but never organized under
that name. In January, 1853, the name was changed to Calhoun.
