Death Of A Brave Delaware County Soldier
Dubuque Herald, March 26, 1865

DEATH OF A BRAVE DELAWARE COUNTY SOLDIER

Marshall McCormack, member of Company B, 4th Iowa Cavalry, died in the General 
Hospital at Paducah, Kentucky, February 12th, 1865. His remains were brought 
home for interment by his father, N. McCormack, Esq., of Delhi, Delaware 
County, Iowa, and were followed to the grave by a large concourse of people. 
He was regarded by his officers as a brave boy and trusty soldier. He was 
buried with military honors, and many of his late comrades now discharged bore 
him to his last resting place.
