WILSON, FORMER ONAWA GARAGE MAN PASSED AWAY ON DECEMBER 19, 1938. Frank L. Wilson was born February 4, 1869 in Deleware(sic) near Manchester, Iowa and passed away in his home in Castana, Iowa, December 19, 1938 following a stroke. His father, Edward C. Wilson was born in England and his mother Tirzah Seaton Wilson, was born in Manchester, Iowa. Frank Wilson, with his parents and his brother Bert, moved to a farm in Ashton township in the spring of 1888 where they lived until their mother died in 1922. Frank and his brother Bert, were interested in the garage and filling station business in Onawa for several years and after disposing of the garage he did hauling and trucking until his death. His mother and father died many years ago, and his brother, Bert, was killed in a truck accidnet(sic) on January 4, 1938 near Castana. On March 8, 1936 he was married to Mrs. Viola Reese at Logan, Iowa, and they have made their home in Castana since. He is survived by his wife, Viola, a number of cousins and a host of friends. Mr. Wilson was intensely interested in all public affairs and served on many boards in Ashton township. He was kind-hearted and gave unstintingly of his time and efforts to any one in need. He was respected and honored by all who knew him for his honesty and integrity in his dealings with everyone. He was a member of Camp No. 1120 Modern Woodmen of America Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in Onawa on Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev. Wayne O. Stauffer officiating.
