P. Zaner * Taught at Elliots Business School in Burlington, Iowa for 2 years. Where he met and Married Mabel D. Walker in 1916. * Served in the Field Artillery as 2nd Lt. during WWI * Taught at Northern Illinois State Teachers College at DeKalb, Illinois from 1916 - 1959 * Earned a Master Degree in Education from Northwestern University at Evanston, Illinois. * Moved to Denver in 1959 to become Western Field Representative for the Zaner - Blaser Co. of Columbus, Ohio. * Edward received many National Honors in the field of Education from Phi Delta Kappa. * International Lettering Associations considered him a Master Engrosser and Teacher. * He was a Master Mason for 66 years. A member of Rocky Mountain Consistory and El Jebel Shrine for 25 years. He affiliated with Denver Lodge #5 several years ago. * His love of color and line helped him create many beautiful things for others. * He was always ready to share ideas and teach his skills. * He lived a long and useful life, always with faith in the future. * He left us peacefully while at home on June 8, 1987. * He rests with God but will remain in the hearts and memories of family and friends. * Family includes: Daughter: Adeline E. Diehl - Denver, CO Son: Edward Frank Edel, Jr. - (preceded in death - 1986) Grand Children: Bonnie Lauby, Redmond Washington, Martha Diehl - Momtaleni - Boston, Mass., Stephen E. Case - Honolulu, Hawaii, Lee H. Diehl - Denver, CO. Great-Grandchildren: Carrie L. Lauby - Redmond, Washington, Katie A. Lauby - Redmond Washington. Numerous nieces and nephews. * Preceded in death by: Wife Mabel W. Edel - 1979 Additional Comments: This was the memorial card from his funeral. Edward was buried in Denver, Colorado.
